League Sports in Saline

2010 Adult Softball Leagues

The softball season is 7 weeks long and teams are guaranteed 12-14 games per season depending on the number of teams in each league. Games are played as doubleheaders. We will accept 8 teams per league. A $75 non-refundable deposit can be put down to hold a spot. The registration and payment deadline for the spring season is April 21 and for the summer season is June 30.

Game Times

Early doubleheaders are at 6:00pm & 7:10pm. Late doubleheaders are at 8:20pm and 9:30pm

April 22 for the spring season.

Team Fees

$475.00 per team plus a $12.50 referee fee per game. There are no individual player fees. Teams can place a $75 non-refundable deposit down to hold a spot. That deposit will then be deducted from the team fee.

Spring Indoor CO-ED Volleyball

Age: 18 years and up

Put a team together for this fun and recreational league. Each team must have an equal number of male and female players on the court. There is a limit of 16 players on each team's roster. Referee fee is $9 per team per evening. The season will run 6-7 weeks. Registration deadline is April 14.

Sand Volleyball Spring Tournament

Age: 18 years and up

We're kicking off the season of Sand Volleyball at Tefft Park with a Spring Tournament May 22-23. Divisions include Co-Rec Quads (Saturday) and Co-Rec 2s (Sunday). For the Quads division, teams can have a maximum of 3 men and a minimum of 1 woman on the court. Matches will be the best 2 out of 3 game series in this single elimination tournament. All matches are self-officiated and rally scored. T-shirts will be awarded to the winners. Sand Volleyball Leagues

Sand Volleyball leagues will be held at Tefft Park behind the Saline Rec Center. All divisions are self-officiated and will run 7-10 weeks. Teams are allowed 8 players on the roster (5 for Open 2s). Game times are at 6:30 and 7:30pm (4 & 5pm on Sundays). Teams will play 3 games each night to 21 points using rally scoring. T-shirts will be awarded to the league champions. Racquetball League

Age: 18 years and up

Choose the division that best suits your skill level. Participants are scheduled one match per week. You choose the time and date of the match. Adult Tennis Lessons

Age: 18 years and up

Beginners through intermediate students will learn from our experienced instructors. Basics such as forehand, backhand, footwork, and serve will be taught to beginners. Intermediate players will focus on volleys and rallies, service, and drills. All classes are held on the Tefft Park tennis courts located behind the Recreation Center.

High School And Adult Doubles Clinics

Age: 9th-12th graders and adults

The class will focus on doubles play, discussing doubles-specific strategies and applying them to on-court experience. The High School sessions are ideal for incoming and current high school tennis players training for competitive play. The adult sessions are geared towards adults with prior tennis experience, though no doubles experience is needed. Don't have a partner? No worries. We'll pair you up with someone. All classes are held on the Tefft Park tennis courts located behind the Recreation Center.

Adult Recreation Soccer Leagues

The league will play 6 vs. 6 on a smaller sized field with a certified soccer referee. No soccer experience is necessary to play in this recreation league. Register individually or as a team. Games will be played at Miller Field, located behind the Saline Recreation Center. Rosters can include up to 16 players. There is a sub fee of $8 for a player who cannot commit to the whole season but wants to fill in. Sub players cannot play more than 2 games. Registration deadline is Wednesday, June 9. Schedules will be posted on Thursday, June 10.

Age: 18 years and up

Kickball is for everyone!! Get your friend and co-workers together to form a team. This league will run 7-9 weeks long depending on the number of teams that sign up. We will accept 4-8 teams. Team fee is $275 plus $12 per week officiating fee. Games will be played on Saturdays. More information is available at the Recreation Center or by emailing Sunshine at slambert@cityofsaline.org. Open Volleyball

Age: 14 years and up

Volleyball players of all skill levels are welcome to attend open volleyball at the Rec Center. Bring a team or come as an individual. Drop-in volleyball is free for members. Non-members pay the daily fee.

Racquetball and Wallyball Court Rentals

Are you looking for something new to do to stay fit and have fun at the same time? You can challenge a friend to a racquetball match at the Rec Center. If you don’t have a racquet, borrow one of ours. You can also get a group together to play wall ball (similar to volleyball). We provide all of the equipment. Reservations will be taken 24 hours in advance without prepaying. You have the option to secure court time further ahead by prepaying (prepaying is non-refundable/non-transferable). The fee to rent the court is $5 per hour. Membership or daily admission is required to enter the Rec Center.

Open Pickleball

Age: 10 years and up

Pickleball is a fun game that is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Fun for all ages. Pickleball players of all skill levels are welcome to attend our open pickleball games at the Saline Recreation Center. Come join in on the fun and learn this new, exciting game. Drop in pickleball is FREE to members. Non-membes pay daily admission.
